UK arrivals could face fines for breaking quarantine

All arrivals into the UK will be required to self-isolate for 14 days from 8 June. Anyone could be fined £1,000 if they fail to self-isolate.

The Home Office says that imported cases may pose a larger threat as they could become a higher proportion of the overall number of infections in the UK and increase the spread of the disease.

Home Secretary Priti Patel will give more details at the daily briefing. The number of people who have died with coronavirus in the UK has reached 36,393
