After the UK reported the biggest daily death toll of the coronavirus crisis on Wednesday with 563 deaths, United Kingdom PM Boris Johnson said that it has been a “sad, sad day”.
He paid tribute to those who have died in the UK after becoming infected, speaking of Wednesday being a ‘sad sad day’ in the fight against Covid-19, as deaths surged by 563 to 2,352.
‘This has been a sad, sad day, 563 more cases – a record in a single day. Our thoughts go out to the families of the victims all their friends,’ Johnson said.
Johnson, who is self-isolating after testing positive, reiterated the government’s commitment to “ramp up” virus testing.
