After US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden named Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate, President Donald Trump said, “I thought she was the meanest, the most horrible, the most disrespectful of anybody in US Senate.”

“She was my number one pick” to run with Biden, he said at a Tuesday news conference.

Trump tweeted a campaign ad calling Harris a “phony,” saying she criticized Biden for supporting “racist policies.”

Trump donated twice to Harris when she was a candidate for attorney general of California.
