A 106-year-old woman recovers from COVID-19 in the UK

A 106-year-old woman believed to be the UK’s oldest patient to recover from COVID-19 has been discharged from hospital.
Three weeks after testing positive for Covid-19, Great-grandmother Connie Titchen, was discharged from Birmingham City Hospital in the UK.

Titchen, who has lived through two World Wars, was admitted to hospital last month with suspected pneumonia and was later diagnosed with COVID-19.

“I feel very lucky that I’ve fought off this virus,” she said, according to a statement from the NHS Trust. “I can’t wait to see my family.”

There have been more than 12,000 coronavirus-related deaths in hospitals in the UK, with a further 761 deaths announced on Wednesday, as reported by Wessex FM News.

In the UK have been nearly 100,000 cases of the virus and almost 13,000 deaths.
