Brazil’s first lady Michelle Bolsonaro and Science and Technology Minister Marcos Pontes have tested positive for the new coronavirus, officials said.
Pontes, 57, wrote on Twitter that he tested positive after experiencing flu-like symptoms and headache. He is now in isolation.
The presidential press office said in a statement later that Michelle Bolsonaro, 38, also tested positive.
“First lady Michelle Bolsonaro tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. She is in good health and will follow all established protocols,” the statement said.
