Five-year-old becomes UK’s youngest COVID-19 victim

A 5-year-old child has become the youngest victim of coronavirus in the UK, NHS England said.

The child is among 637 Covid-19 hospital patients who died up to 5pm on Friday, the oldest of which was 104, NHS England added.

Previously, Britain’s youngest coronavirus victim was “very healthy” 13-year-old Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab, who died in hospital in London on Monday.
Meanwhile, positive coronavirus cases have today risen from 38,168 to 41,903, the Department of Health revealed.
