New York to allow gatherings of up to 25 people

Gatherings of up to 25 people will be permitted in parts of New York that have entered the third phase of the state’s reopening plan, up from a previous limit of 10, New York governor Andrew Cuomo said.

He said that the state has reached the lowest number of hospitalisations and deaths on the three-day average since the coronavirus pandemic began.

The number of total hospitalizations was down to 1,608 to the lowest level. 25 people in New York passed away, which is the lowest level on a three-day average since the pandemic began.
