Twitter removes Trump's COVID adviser's post denying efficacy of masks

Twitter on Sunday removed a “misleading” tweet downplaying the efficacy of masks posted by a top coronavirus adviser to President Donald Trump.

Dr. Scott Atlas had tweeted “Masks work? NO.”

Twitter said the post violated its misleading information policy on COVID-19. Masks have been widely endorsed by health experts. The White House had no immediate comment on the decision.

The U.S. has reported 8,388,013 coronavirus cases and 224,732 COVID-19 deaths.
