41,279 people have died in hospitals, care homes and the wider community after testing positive for Covid-19 in the UK, the Department of Health and Social Care said.
This number includes 95 fatalities in hospitals, with the youngest in England aged just 26.
The number of cases that have been confirmed positive overall has reached 291,409.
197,007 tests were carried out, with 1,266 positive results. 31,794 contacts were identified, with 8,177 of the 26,985 told to self-isolate testing positive for the disease.
