The UK death toll from Covid-19 has risen by 38, bringing the total to 41,736, according to the government.
A further 1,056 people tested positive for coronavirus after over 93,000 tests were carried out on Sunday, the Department of Health and Social Care said.
It brings the total number of positive tests across the UK to 296,857.
It comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson faces mounting pressure to further ease social distancing restrictions, as the outbreak continues to pummel the country’s labour market and economy.
The UK has the third highest number of deaths and fifth highest number of confirmed cases in the world.
