The UK’s official coronavirus death toll has risen by 15 to 42,647, Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) figures show.
This is the lowest number of new deaths recorded since lockdown was announced on March 23.
In the 24-hour period 139,659 tests were sent out, with 957 positive results, the daily DHSC figures showed, bringing the total number of known cases to 305,289.
It comes after NHS England reported another 20 deaths in hospitals. Wales reported one new death, there were no new deaths in Northern Ireland and there were no new hospital deaths reported in Scotland for the sixth day in a row.
