The country’s top infectious diseases official Dr. Anthony Fauci said earlier this week that an vaccine might be available by the end of the year. The country has recorded more than 160,000 deaths, nearly a quarter of the world’s total.
At least 19 million people around the world have been diagnosed with COVID-19. The global death toll crossed 725,000. More than 11 people million have recovered.
