Craig Tiley, director of the Australian Open, has commented on rumors that the tournament could be canceled due to forest fires that have raged in the country since October 2019.
“There are many rumors that the Australian Open will not take place or will begin later. But the competition is already underway,”. The Guardian quoted Tiley’s saying.
According to him, the issue of air quality is very complicated due to the influence of many factors.
“But it’s important to trust the advice of doctors and experts who analyze the situation every day,” Tiley said.
