NBA star, Kobe Bryant, 41, was killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.
Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria was among the passengers on board, and died in the crash as well.
Authorities confirmed that five people died, with no survivors. Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said eight passengers and the pilot of the aircraft died in the accident, reports AFP.
“There were no survivors… There were nine people on board the aircraft, the pilot plus eight individuals,” Villanueva said.
Bryant spent 20 years with just one team – the Los Angeles Lakers, winning five NBA titles and two Finals MVPs, as the producer of the animated short film “Dear Basketball,” an Academy Award-winner. He was an 18-time NBA All-Star.
