Angela Merkel in quarantine

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is in quarantine after meeting a doctor on Friday who has since tested positive for the virus, her spokesman told BBC.

According to BBC, Chancellor was told about the contact after a press conference on Sunday in which she announced further measures to try to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Her spokesman, Steffen Seibert, said Merkel had received a precautionary vaccine Friday against pneumococcal infection.

In the conference earlier on Sunday, the Merkel announced a nationwide ban on public meetings of more than 2 people outside of work, to be in place for at least 2 weeks.
