Armenia declared martial law and total military mobilization following clashes with Azerbaijan over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, the Armenian PM said.

Nagorno-Karabakh said 16 of its servicemen had been killed and more than 100 wounded after Azerbaijan launched an air and artillery attack early on Sunday.

Armenia claimed it had destroyed Azerbaijan’s 10 tanks and shot down four helicopters.

“We stay strong next to our army to protect our motherland from Azeri invasion,” Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on Twitter.
