Azerbaijan and Armenia accused each other of killing civilians by shelling cities in and around Nagorno-Karabakh.
Azerbaijan officials said 21 people were killed while Armenia reported one death. Both sides denied each other’s claims.
The International Committee of the Red Cross said a volunteer from the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society had been killed and two others injured in the shelling.
The latest ceasefire was brokered in Washington on Sunday. U.S. President Donald Trump called the renewed fighting “disappointing.” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urged both sides to pursue a diplomatic solution.
