Israeli Health Minister Yaakov Litzman and his wife have tested positive for coronavirus, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.
The pair was being “suitably treated and are in isolation, under observation in accordance with Health Ministry guidelines,” the statement said
Litzman, 71, the most senior Israeli official to be diagnosed with the virus, will continue to carry out his duties from home.
The death toll from the novel coronavirus has risen to 31 in Israel, according to the Health Ministry.
