Kyrgyzstan is in chaos and needs stabilizing: Russia

Russia said that Kyrgyzstan has descended into chaos after opposition groups claimed power in the country during protests over the results of the parliamentary election. Russia also said that it is obliged under a security treaty to prevent a total breakdown in Kyrgyzstan.

Protesters stormed government buildings on Tuesday.

“The situation looks like a mess and chaos”, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a briefing, referring to Russian obligations under a security treaty between the two countries to avoid a complete breakdown of government.
