North Korea said it’ll sever hotlines with South Korea as the first step toward shutting down all contact with the country, The North’s Korean Central News Agency reported.
KCNA reported that Pyongyang “will completely cut off and shut down the liaison line between the authorities of the North and the South, which has been maintained through the North-South joint liaison office,” at noon on June 9.
This comes after North Korea warned the South that it will shut an inter-Korean liaison office and other projects if the South does not stop defectors from sending leaflets and other material into the North.
