House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripped up pages of the US President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address after he concluded his speech on Tuesday.
As Trump ended the speech, saying “Thank you. God bless you. God bless America,” Pelosi stood up directly behind the president, then straightened her copy of the speech by tapping it on the desk, brought it up to chest-level and tore it in half.
That happened after Donald Trump appeared to reject a handshake from Pelosi before he began his speech.
Pelosi later told reporters she tore up the document because it was a “manifesto of untruths.”
Pelosi and Trump spar often. Trump calls the top Democrat “Nervous Nancy” at his rallies.
