Russian opposition leader Navalny has come out of coma: Berlin hospital

Russian opposition leader and Kremlin critic Alexey Navalny, 44, has been removed from a medically induced coma and is responding to speech, Berlin’s Charite hospital said in a statement.

“It remains too early to gauge the potential long-term effects of his severe poisoning,” Charite said in a statement.

The hospital added his condition has improved and he is being weaned off mechanical ventilation.

Chancellor Angela Merkel has said the government has concluded Navalny was poisoned with Novichok.
