Thousands of people protested in Armenia’s capital demanding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation after he signed an agreement with Azerbaijan to end the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
Demonstrators chanted “Nikol, go away” and “Nikol, the traitor.” They ignored martial law, under which rallies are banned.
According to reports by Armenian media, more than 100 people were detained and later released.
Several cease-fires announced over the past two months failed to halt the violence.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Tuesday has announced he had signed an “unspeakably painful agreement” with Russia and Azerbaijan to end the war over the disputed area of Nagorno-Karabakh.
