Trump: US has passed coronavirus peak

The U.S. President Donald Trump said during a press conference that data suggests the country has “passed the peak on new coronavirus cases”.

“The data suggests that nationwide, we have passed the peak on new cases,” he said. “Hopefully that will continue, and we will continue to make great progress.”

Trump said he would announce new guidelines on easing containment measures after he speaks to state governors. “We’ll be the comeback kids, all of us,” the president said. “We want to get our country back.”

The U.S. has over 640,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases and over 28,500 deaths.
