The number of people who have died in the UK after testing positive for Covid-19 has jumped by 181, new government figures show.
It brings the official tally of UK deaths to 41,662.
In England, another 67 patients who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, taking the total number of confirmed deaths in hospitals to 27,927, according to NHS England.
The Department of Health and Social Care said that there had been 6.6 million tests, with 188,794 tests on Friday, and 294,375 people having tested positive since the start of the pandemic.
The UK has the world’s third-highest death toll, after the US and Brazil.
