WHO names the new coronavirus – COVID-19

The new coronavirus now has a name – COVID-19. The CO stands for corona, the VI for virus and the D for disease, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of WHO, announced Tuesday
“Having a name matters to prevent the use of other names that can be inaccurate or stigmatizing,” Tedros said.
COVID-19 has killed many in mainland china and spread across the world. In the past six weeks infected over 40,000 Chinese citizens and killed more than 1,000.
